Eggs for sale!
- September 28, 2015 update -
Of the 120 eggs we had for sale, none remain...
With this being the first update of our site in 2 to 3 years, much has happened in the interim...
aside from the complications of multiple sclerosis, "P.Y. Pysanky" had 3 strokes - THEN - a 2nd (!)
neurological disorder (thought by a neurologist to be CIDP) made its presence known by causing
extreme nerve damage to both hands.
To date, no new pysanky have been created.

HOWEVER (lol!)
Not wishing to end this message on a dour note, do remember this:
We are "God's spoiled children" and He has blessed us beyond words.
Medically, I was told how lucky I was to still be able to feed myself, brush my teeth and such...
...yet I began playing guitar again despite the nerve damage (docs called it "muscle memory")
...re-taught myself to shape, hammer & create jewelry links from metal wire even better than
the work done previous to the physical damage (again they called it "muscle memory")
...learned to play a musical instrument I'd never even SEEN before; an instrument with 66 strings which
is played with 2 hammers held in your hands ("muscle memory" my foot!)...
The doctors and physical therapist don't know YET - but God willing - they will in time.
What happened was so astounding we're making a video about it. To say the very least,
it will be about dealing with disability in a new manner altogether.
No new pysanky have been made yet - with the need to set up the work area & table again, I haven't tried...
- but with God's blessing, egg art WILL be done again.
... also buttoning buttons, handling papers or money without fumbling, holding a pen to write ...

Although we have one of the larger collections of pysanky
and "batik" eggs on permanent display in the United States,
we also have many eggs for sale...
As with our wood work, there is only ONE of each egg;
no patterns are used -
drawn freehand with melted beeswax, each egg is unique.
- a few of the chicken & pullet eggs for sale!
Starting at $20 and up, we will probably not be able to post photos on the web site of each
egg that's for sale (at this time). With 500 eggs in the studio, we're still working on improving
the displays to hold 'em all! :)
ALL of the eggs, however, are slowly being photographed for a very special project...
(and "P.Y. Pysanky" is writing more eggs all the time!)

Ostrich Egg
On 1/20/12, work was underway on an ostrich egg! The designs are drawn freehand with
melted bee's wax; on the finished egg, the designs on the two photos below will show up WHITE.
The rough equivalent of 24 chicken eggs, these "monsters" can take a LONG time to work into art!

Done!
After 7 days of drawing (up to 12 hours a day!), the basic work
was completed on the 5.5 " tall, 4.5" diameter egg.
It is the first ostrich egg we are offering for sale
(the others are in the permanent "museum" display).
$500

"Egg Bowl" fetish necklace (sold)
A new idea! - we've started making small "bowls" from the ends of eggs and after strengthening &
fortifying them, they are put onto suede cording for a a very unusual - and fun! - fetish necklace!
Prices will vary depending on degree of detail and cord work, etc - but they all
"start life" in the same manner... you take an egg and cut it in half... (LOL)

To give some size comparisons:
To give some size comparisons:
Had an "oopsie" in the studio the other day - but this egg may
not be a loss! With some work it can become 1-3 fetish necklaces
instead (a "trick" from the book that's being written!).
There's a chapter called: "When Accidents Happen".
